CBCP urges lawmakers to be clear on their stand on RH BillBill

MANILA, May 27 — A Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) official urged legislators to be more specific on their stand on Reproductive Health Bill which is pending before Congress.

Fr. Melvin Castro, executive secretary of the CBCP’s Commission on Family and Life, said they should give straight answers on whether or not they are for or against the bill.

“It’s like a choice between angels and demons,” he said, in an article posted on the CBCPNews website.

The priest said that the church has always insisted that the struggle to defend family and life is “part and parcel of the spiritual warfare that we are into”.

The bill on maternal health care allows the government to promote artificial family planning if it passed as a law.

Aside from promoting artificial family planning, the measure will also include sex education for students and advice on artificial contraception, which Church considers as immoral. READ FULL STORY.
